Belarus awaits a tough presidential election campaign - A. Lukashenko
April 27, Petrikov District /Lyudmila Sats - BELTA/. Belarus expects a tough presidential election campaign. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko while communicating with residents of the Petrikov District of Gomel Region, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"We have the main campaign ahead of us, a very tough campaign. If the current President has to participate in this campaign, it will be even tougher," Alexander Lukashenko said.
"You see, someone here doesn't like the current President - both in the West and in the East. Naturally, their hands itch to get involved here. I'm not too worried about that, I'm just telling you - you shouldn't relax," the head of state emphasized.
He also added: "Honestly, I've worked enough. If you find another president, there will be no fear. Sooner or later, he will have to be found. If you find one - that's good." Alexander Lukashenko, addressing the residents of Petrikov District, expressed hope: "If I am not president and I come here, you will not refuse me, you will meet with me, and just as I once helped you find a piece of bread, you will give me a piece of bread too."
The President once again stressed that in this situation, there is no need to relax, so that what happened in other republics, such as recently in Kyrgyzstan, does not happen. "We don't need this. If someone applauds and rejoices, it's only the Kyrgyz people who don't, because such revolutions push the state and the people back in their development not for one decade. And who will pull all this on their shoulders? You, the people," Alexander Lukashenko said. -0-
