Belarus needs to demonstrate the benefits of creating logistics centers on its territory - an expert
October 15, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Belarus needs to more actively demonstrate to investors the benefits and advantages of creating transport and logistics centers on its territory. This point of view was expressed in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent by Normunds Kruminsh, partner of Logistikas Partneri SIA (Latvia). He is taking part in the autumn business forum, which opened in Vitebsk today.
According to the Latvian businessman, who works in the field of providing transport and logistics services, "the Belarusian authorities have good developments in this area, and the legislation has created favorable conditions for doing business." In addition, the European transport corridors Berlin-Moscow and Helsinki-Plovdiv are marked on all European maps. However, it is necessary to move forward and demonstrate the benefits of transit through Belarus, Normunds Kruminsh is sure. "European transport flows are already formed, and changes to them require funds, so it is very important for Belarus to show the economic advantage of redirecting flows through its territory," he said.
Logistikas Partneri SIA has shown interest in the Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant project to create an international logistics center with a total investment of $11.6 million. The company intends to make its first transport charter to Orsha as early as the beginning of 2010. -0-
