"Belarusian malyavanka" is presented at the Center of Russian Culture in Tallinn
May 27, Minsk /Marta Astreyko – BELTA/. The "Belarusian Malyavanka" exhibition, featuring drawings by students of the Polotsk Children's Art School, has opened at the Center of Russian Culture in Tallinn. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Consul General of Belarus in the Estonian capital, Alexander Ostrovsky.
"The works are executed in the style of painted carpets – a type of folk art called 'malyavanka', which was widespread in Belarus in the 1930s-1950s. The project, carried out under the guidance of school teachers Natalia Antimonova and Dmitry Svyatsky, worthily continues the original traditions of Belarusian folk art," the diplomat said.
The exhibition is held on the initiative and with the support of the Consulate General of Belarus in Tallinn. Previously, it was successfully exhibited at the Narva Children's Art School. -0-
