Belenergo plans to complete the turbine replacement at the Vitebsk CHPP in December
May 23, Minsk / Anna Kot - BELTA /. Belenergo State Production Association plans to complete the replacement of turbine No. 2 with an expired service life of 35 MW at the Vitebsk CHP plant with a 40 MW turbine in December of the current year. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Mikhail Luzin, Deputy General Director of Belenergo State Production Association.
The installation of a 40 MW turbine will increase the electricity generation of the CHP plant to 490.2 million kWh per year.
The project will be implemented using equipment from the Kaluga Turbine Plant (Russia). Since March 2011, the general contractor OAO "Tsentrenergomontazh" has been carrying out dismantling work, which will be completed this month. Then the general contractor will proceed with construction and installation work, which will last until the end of the current year. The commissioning of the facility is scheduled for December 2011.
In addition, Belenergo State Production Association is currently working on the construction of a mini-CHP plant in the city of Rechytsa with a capacity of 4.2 MW and the reconstruction of Minsk CHP-2 with the installation of two combined cycle gas turbine units with a capacity of 32.5 MW each.
At the Rechytsa mini-CHP plant, equipment installation has been completed, and commissioning works are underway. Station workers are engaged in unit acceptance, individual testing, and start-up operations. It is planned to complete the integrated testing of all equipment this month, after which the station will be put into operation.
At Minsk CHP-2, construction and installation work on the first start-up complex has been carried out, and gas turbine No. 2 has been launched. Commissioning works on gas turbine No. 1 and auxiliary equipment are continuing with the participation of Swedish and Chinese specialists. Landscaping work is underway. Integrated testing of equipment and commissioning are planned for this month.
After reconstruction, Minsk CHP-2 will generate 400 million kWh of electricity and 1.3 million Gcal of heat annually. The work carried out will save about 50 thousand tons of conventional fuel per year, or Br56 billion at current prices.
In 2011-2015, Belenergo State Production Association plans to commission 3150 MW of high-efficiency electric capacity instead of 2336 MW of obsolete capacity. These include combined cycle power units at Lukomlskaya and Berezovskaya GRES with a unit capacity of 400 MW, Minsk CHP-5 (399 MW); gas topping units for steam power equipment with a capacity of 70 MW at Vitebskaya and Novopolotskaya CHP plants, Bobruisk CHP-2. Combined cycle power units with a capacity of 64 and 15 MW will be installed at existing boiler houses in Borisov and Mogilev, respectively. To reduce the share of natural gas in the fuel balance, the construction of the Zelvenskaya coal-fired thermal power plant is planned, as well as the installation of power modules using local fuels at existing boiler houses. As a result, by the end of the five-year period, a reduction in specific fuel consumption by 25-30 tons of conventional fuel/kWh and natural gas consumption by 2.1 billion cubic meters is expected.
The State Production Association of Electric Power Industry "Belenergo" was established in 2006 by reorganizing the Belarusian State Energy Concern to manage the economic activities of the electric power complex of Belarus. Belenergo includes, among others, the republican unitary enterprises "Brestenergo", "Vitebskenergo", "Gomelenergo", "Grodnoenergo", "Minskenergo", "Mogilevenergo".-0-
