Belarusian Andrey Kolosov took second place on the first day of the "Vitebsk-2009" competition

July 12, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo – BELTA /. Belarus' representative at the international pop song performers contest "Vitebsk-2009", Andrey Kolosov, scored 92 points out of a possible 100 following the first contest day and took second place, a BELTA correspondent reports. Vlatko Lozanoski from Macedonia has the same number of points (92). Dmitry Danilenko, representing Russia, received the highest score. The judges awarded him 95 points. Pasha Parfeniy from Moldova with 91 points rounds out the top four leaders. It should be noted that the gap between the contestants' scores in the top ten is minimal. Petr Dmytrichenko from Ukraine, Jeronimas Milius from Lithuania, and Roxana from Uzbekistan are literally breathing down the necks of the top four. However, the main assessments were given to the young performers by the audience, and judging by the applause, they are all very high. Yaroslav Parči from Slovakia became the audience's favorite literally from the first minutes on the Summer Amphitheater stage. Today, the contestants will meet again on the main stage of the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" arts festival to demonstrate their ability to perform songs accompanied by an orchestra to the jury. They will be assisted by the National Orchestra of Symphony and Pop Music of the Republic of Belarus under the direction of Mikhail Finberg. Despite the fact that the winner with the highest number of points will already be determined, the jury, headed by Laima Vaikule, will announce its verdict only on July 13. It is then that the winners of the first, second, and third prizes, as well as the main award of the contest – the Grand Prix – will be known. 16 contestants are participating in the international pop song performers contest "Vitebsk-2009". In accordance with the Contest Regulations, the jury openly awards its scores, evaluating performances on a 10-point scale. -0-
