Belarusian Veronika Chernyavskaya will compete for the "Fakel" Grand Prix today
Belarusian Veronika Chernyavskaya will compete today for the Grand Prix of the final round of the fifth corporate festival "Fakel" (Torch) for amateur creative groups and performers of subsidiaries and organizations of PJSC "Gazprom", a BELTA correspondent reports.
The talent of the young singer, who represented PJSC "Gazprom transgaz Belarus" at the competition, was noted by the jury with the first prize in the nomination "Pop Vocal, Solo", which, in accordance with the forum rules, gave her the opportunity to contend for the "Fakel" Grand Prix in the category of 17 years and older.
All contenders for the main award of the festival in this age group were announced by the chairman of the jury, People's Artist of Russia, laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation Svyatoslav Belza at the award ceremony for the festival winners, which took place on May 18 in the "Vitebsk" concert hall. According to him, in addition to Veronika Chernyavskaya, the group included the dance ensemble "Music of the Heart" ("Gazprom transgaz Tomsk"), Yulia Kogadaeva ("Gazprom dobycha Orenburg"), the folk dance ensemble "Siberian Souvenir" ("Gazprom transgaz Tomsk"), the exemplary vocal group "Alphabet" ("Gazprom dobycha Urengoy"), and the folk dance company "Kurazh-ballet" ("Gazprom transgaz Surgut"). He also named the young participants of the festival competing for the Grand Prix in the age groups from 5 to 10 years and from 11 to 16 years.
At the award ceremony, jury members solemnly presented the contestants with diplomas of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree winners in all three age groups in the nominations "Folklore", "Vocal (Folk, Pop, Classical, Jazz)", "Choreography (Folk, Pop, Ballroom, Classical)", "Vocal-Instrumental and Instrumental Ensembles", "Pop-Circus and Original Genre". At the same time, the main intrigue of the competition, according to the organizers' plan, remained undisclosed. This secret will be revealed only on the evening of May 19 at the gala concert in the Summer Amphitheater.
Addressing all participants of the event, Sviatoslav Belza emphasized that each "Fakel" festival brought something new, becoming larger with each iteration and revealing new colors in its palette. "We, the jury members and spectators, watched 127 acts. Based on the performance results, the judging panel awarded the maximum possible – 40 first prizes. This is one-third of all participants! You cannot accuse us of being stingy," he noted.
Belarusian artists worthily represented their structural division of "Gazprom" and the country at "Fakel": the vocal ensemble "Novy Stil" (nomination "Pop Vocal, Ensemble"), Elizaveta Zayats ("Folk Vocal, Solo"), and the exemplary dance ensemble "VI-ZA-VI" ("Pop Choreography, Ensemble") added three silver awards to the medal tally. Valeriy Stoma ("Pop Vocal, Solo") won bronze.
Veronika Chernyavskaya, who brought home gold, is much more critical and strict about her own performance at the competition, considering it not her best stage appearance. "I still have room to grow, there is no limit to perfection," she noted in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent, believing that she does not yet deserve the Grand Prix of "Fakel". "There are other more deserving participants," the artist is convinced.
The corporate festival "Fakel" by "Gazprom" is held once every two years for the past ten years in regions where the company has structural divisions. From May 13 to 19, the final round of the fifth corporate festival is taking place in Vitebsk.
