The Belarusian Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons will be established at a conference in Vitebsk

The Belarusian Association of Cardiosurgical Surgeons is planned to be established at the first republican scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 50th anniversary of cardiosurgery in Belarus, which will be held in Vitebsk on December 17-18. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Alexander Zenkov, head of the cardiosurgical department of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, associate professor, candidate of medical sciences. The scientific forum will bring together leading specialists in cardiosurgery and thoracic surgery from all regions of Belarus, as well as representatives of specialized medical and research institutions from Russia, Germany, and Lithuania in the regional center. Video presentations of surgeries for thoracic aortic aneurysm, heart valve disease, and myocardial revascularization performed by renowned foreign and domestic surgeons will be organized at the conference. The surgeries will be performed at the regional clinical hospital. In addition, conference participants will discuss the most important issues in the field of cardiovascular diseases, get acquainted with and exchange experiences in implementing the latest developments in cardiosurgery and thoracic surgery. Specialists will analyze modern aspects of surgical treatment of ischemic heart disease, thoracic aortic aneurysms, tachyarrhythmias, and will also present research results in the field of cardiosurgery and thoracic surgery, transplantology, and bioprosthetics. During the forum, the founding conference of the Belarusian Association of Cardiosurgical Surgeons will be held. According to Alexander Zenkov, the creation of such a public organization will give new impetus to the development of domestic cardiosurgery and thoracic surgery, activate the promotion of modern surgical methods and technologies for treating patients in domestic practice, as well as their implementation in regional medical institutions.
