Belarusian participants of the children's music competition "Vitebsk-2009" will perform second and ninth on the first day of the competition
July 13, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. The draw for the performances of the two days of the VII International Children's Music Competition "Vitebsk-2009" has taken place in festival Vitebsk, reports a BELTA correspondent.
Belarus will be represented at the competition by Lolita, laureate of the I prize of the International Festival of Young Talents "Zvezdochka" (Odesa, Ukraine), and Maria Novik, laureate of the I prize of the IV International Festival-Competition of Children's and Youth Creativity "Okno v Evropu" (Saint Petersburg, Russia).
On the first day of the musical competition, Lolita and Maria Novik will perform second and ninth, respectively. On July 15, they will sing under number five (Maria Novik) and nine (Lolita).
The competition will be opened by Viktoria Litvynchuk from Ukraine, and on the second competition day, the young performer from Italy, Virgilia Siddi, will be the first to take the stage.
This year, participants from 16 countries have become contestants. The founding countries of the festival - Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine - according to the competition rules, each present 2 participants. Unlike the competition for young performers, which is predominantly represented by men this year, the participants of the children's music competition are predominantly female. A feature of this competition was that three participants drew the same numbers for the two competition days. These were assigned to contestants from Bulgaria (10), Russia (12), and Romania (4).
All contestants, despite their young age, can already be called artists. They have participated in more than one song competition and have more than one laureate title. The best among them will be determined by a competent jury headed by People's Artist of Belarus, composer Leonid Zakhlevny. -0-
