Belarusian universities of the second wave will start accepting documents from applicants on July 16
Admission committees of second-stream higher education institutions, both state-owned and private (except for correspondence and evening forms of education in agricultural higher education institutions), will begin accepting documents from applicants on July 16 for all forms of education. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press secretary of the Ministry of Education of Belarus, Yulia Vanina.
Documents can be submitted until July 25 (until July 23 for military faculties).
Second-stream higher education institutions include state-owned and private higher education institutions, with the exception of higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Defense, and Ministry of Culture. Applicants must submit three CT certificates to the higher education institution, or two if the higher education institution will conduct an internal exam in the subject. Internal exams are expected for applicants only in creative disciplines (drawing, music, dance, composition, etc.), literature, and physical education.
When applying for specialties such as "Public Administration," "Public Administration and Law," "Public Administration and Economics," "International Relations," "International Law," "Jurisprudence," "Economic Law," "Journalism" (including as a second major), "International Journalism," and "Customs Affairs," a special recommendation is required after a professional-psychological interview. All applicants must have this document, regardless of the intended duration of study or form of education. The rule applies to everyone who chooses full-time, evening, or correspondence forms of education (including distance learning), shortened study programs, as well as those who will study under a targeted training agreement.
When applying, the average score of the education document will be taken into account. Therefore, the enrollment of applicants in higher education institutions for state-funded and fee-paying places for all forms of education will be based on a competition of the total score, calculated from the results of entrance examinations and the average score of the education document.
For applicants who have passed entrance examinations but were not admitted to full-time state-funded education, documents for participation in the competition for part-time and evening education at the same university at the expense of the budget (except for agricultural universities) will be accepted until August 2. For applicants who have passed entrance examinations, for participation in the competition for full-time, part-time, and evening education on a paid basis, documents will be accepted until August 4.
This year, the Ministry of Education, in case of inability of applicants to arrive at the admission committee of educational institutions for valid reasons (business trip, participation in international competitions and contests, illness, treatment abroad on the referral of a healthcare institution), confirmed by documents, allows their representatives, acting on the basis of a notarized power of attorney, to submit documents to the admission committees of educational institutions and conclude training agreements.
Enrollment of applicants who are graduates of urban and rural educational institutions under a separate competition will be carried out only for state-funded places. Enrollment of applicants on a paid basis will be conducted under a general competition.
The operating hours of university admission committees during the period of document acceptance, entrance examinations, and enrollment of applicants remain unchanged. Admission committees of educational institutions operate from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 18:00. If the last day for accepting documents, conducting entrance examinations, or enrolling applicants falls on a Sunday, admission committees will operate on that day from 9:00 to 18:00. Admission committees for the second wave of applicants will operate on Saturdays - July 20, 27, August 3, and one Sunday - August 4 (the last day for accepting documents on a paid basis).
Admission committees will inform applicants about the progress of document acceptance on the internet resource, on paper, and, if possible, on electronic media in the established form. Information will be updated daily at least once every three hours of the admission committee's operation (9:00, 12:00, 15:00, 18:00).
On the last day of document submission, informing applicants about the progress of document acceptance will cease at 3:00 PM. Admission of applicants to the educational institution building where the admissions committee is located will end at 6:00 PM. On the last day of document submission, at 6:00 PM, the admissions committee will stop issuing documents to applicants for the purpose of submitting them to another specialty, while ensuring the acceptance of documents from all applicants present in the university building where the admissions committee is located after admission has ceased.
The volume of targeted training this year will be up to 30% of the admission control figures for certain specialties. Among those eligible for admission without exams are winners of international Olympiads and the final stage of the republican Olympiad. Winners (first degree diploma) of the third (regional and Minsk city) stages of the republican Olympiad automatically receive 100 points in the relevant subject.
In addition, for agricultural specialties, in a separate competition, all applicants residing in rural settlements for at least two years at the time of education will be considered rural, regardless of the location of the educational institution they graduated from.
