The Belarusian tournament "Slavyanka" made it into the top intellectual tournaments in the world

The Belarusian tournament "Slavyanka" was ranked among the top three intellectual tournaments in the world for 2019-2020. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Alexey Galkin, Chairman of the intellectual club of the "Vitebsk" Cultural Center and head of the tournament's organizing committee.

The website of the International Association of Clubs "What? Where? When?", presided over by renowned expert and game master Andrey Kozlov, has published the shortlist of winners in the "Tournament of the Year" nomination for 2019-2020. The list includes the VII International Tournament of Intellectual Games "Slavyanka-2020" (held in Polotsk at the end of January this year), as well as the IV Arctic Cup (March 2020, Murmansk) and the III Eurasia Cup (August 2019, Tashkent).

"It is gratifying that our tournament has received such high praise for the second time. It was also in the top rankings for 2018," noted Alexey Galkin.

"Slavyanka" is the only Belarusian intellectual tournament of international level, the winner of which earns the right to participate in the World Championship of the game "What? Where? When?".

This year's competition featured game master of "What? Where? When?", four-time winner of the "Crystal Owl" award Maxim Potashev, "Crystal Owl" winner Boris Belozerov, experts from the Moscow television elite club "What? Where? When?" Kim Galachyan, Mikhail Karpuk, Daria Solovey, and many others.

"It is a great honor and a huge responsibility to organize an event of this caliber. We will continue to do everything possible to make the tournament even better," added Alexey Galkin.

The organizers of "Slavyanka" included the intellectual games club "Platinum Owl" of OJSC "ASB Belarusbank", the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Polotsk District Executive Committee, the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the NGO "BRSM", and partners.
