The Belarusian-Russian conference "Labor. Protection. Security" is taking place in Vitebsk
Participants will exchange experience, including on the legislative framework. Belarusian practices of compensation payments for working conditions may be of interest to guests from the neighboring country. The city brought together the work of managers and specialists in the field of labor protection, all those who are not indifferent to the problems of organizing safe production processes and creating healthy working conditions in the workplace.
Interaction with Russian colleagues is particularly relevant now, as a joint program of the Union State is being implemented to harmonize legislation in the social and labor spheres.
– Over so many years, we have been adopting each other's experience and best practices. When we worked on the labor protection law, we took a lot from Russia. When they were preparing their law on special assessment of working conditions, they adopted our approaches. As for compensation for working conditions, we will discuss these issues to bring our approaches closer. We still have differences in the application of labor protection legislation norms: we interact a little more broadly with citizens working under civil law contracts. This is not yet the case in Russia, – explained Igor Starovoitov, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus.
The Deputy Minister added that in 2021, industrial injuries decreased in the country as a whole, and the Vitebsk region ranks second in the republic in terms of labor protection.
Also, conference participants will go on an industrial tour to JSC "Vitebskiye Kovry", "Vitebskdrev", LLC "Allianceplast", and to the confectionery factory "Vitba".
– We are pleased that this important event is taking place in Vitebsk. We have the opportunity to share our experience in labor protection and safety at our enterprises. This is very commendable, – noted the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Anzhelika Nikitina. – All enterprises in the region are actively and effectively working to ensure the safety of people in production. Traumatism has decreased by 20%. The selected organizations can demonstrate not only Belarusian advanced experience but also international safety quality standards.
The conference participants were presented with an exhibition showcasing personal protective equipment and labor protection services.
