Enter business with excellent knowledge. It can be acquired at entrepreneurship support centers, which are opening across Belarus, including in the Vitebsk region, within the framework of the "Small Towns" project, implemented by the UNDP and the Ministry of Economy of Belarus with the financial support of the Russian Federation. In our region, such a center is located in the urban settlement of Baran, and another will open in Glubokoye this autumn.

As a reminder, according to the project, six entrepreneurship support centers will operate in the country in the Mogilev and Vitebsk regions. Three institutions are already operating in Chausy, Krichev, and Mstislavl. By the end of the year, another one will open in Gorki.

A significant part of the "Small Towns" program events, which started two years ago, is held on their basis. During this period, 60 seminars were conducted in 20 cities of the Mogilev and Vitebsk regions, where 1300 entrepreneurs were trained.

Experts in marketing, business planning, franchising, and finance took part in the program. The topics of the classes were formed based on the demand and relevance for the participants themselves.

— The greatest interest among novice businessmen has always been in issues related to the possibilities of obtaining financial support to start their activities, — said Marina Kalinovskaya, head of the "Small Towns" project.

In addition to participating in free training seminars, local entrepreneurs can receive professional consultations on legal and accounting issues, and rent offices or equipped workplaces on preferential terms.

Permanent partners of the project are the Belarusian Fund for Financial Support of Entrepreneurs and OJSC "Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus". The first step in joint work with the latter was the development of a separate credit product aimed at supporting the development of small and medium-sized businesses. Favorable financing conditions attracted a large number of entrepreneurs in small towns. Since 2017, the Development Bank has financed 605 projects in the Mogilev and Vitebsk regions for a total amount of 103.2 million rubles.

After the completion of the "Small Towns" project in 2020, the centers will continue to organize events in cooperation with local authorities.
