Safe recreation on the Braslav Lakes: where to swim and sunbathe in summer

Braslav region anticipates a massive influx of tourists in the summer period. Its numerous lakes attract thousands of Belarusians and Russians with their purity and coolness, who wish to spend their holidays in an ecologically clean territory.

This is a busy time for those who organize recreation and are responsible for its safety.

The abundance of lakes also means an abundance of risky areas. Especially where there are no public beaches. Understanding this, the local authorities increase the number of recreation areas every year.
Within Braslav, where the largest crowds are observed, two beaches are equipped on Lake Drivyaty – on the western entrance to the city, well-known from the Viva Braslav festival, and on the shore near the "Braslav Lakes" tourist complex and the "Drivyaty" recreation center. The third beach is located on Lake Berezhye in close proximity to the new residential microdistrict. Practically within Braslav, on its eastern side, there is another beach on Lake Voiso. Changing rooms, benches, and sports zones are available at each, and the main city beach also has two cafes, a rental station, and attractions... The urban settlement of Vidzy, the village of Strusto, and the "Peretyag" national park campsite have their own beaches.

In addition to the beaches, 8 recreation areas have been equipped. However, there is no lifeguard service there, which means swimming is not allowed; only sunbathing is permitted. But even here, conditions for safe recreation are provided.

Six beaches and eight water recreation areas will be operational in Braslav.

Each such facility, with or without permission to swim, has received a passport, which indicates the presence of necessary equipment and compliance with sanitary standards.
