Individual budget payments in the Vitebsk region increased by almost 25% in January-April

Budget payments by individuals in the Vitebsk region in January-April increased by almost a quarter to Br18.1 billion compared to the same period in 2009, the press center of the regional tax inspection informed a BELTA correspondent. As of May 1, more than 411.5 thousand residents of the region were registered as taxpayers, and the number of taxpayers in this category increased by almost 1% compared to the data for the four months of last year. The share of payments by individuals in the total budget revenue is 1.7%. Thus, more than 6.2 thousand citizens pay tax on income from renting out residential premises. From this category of taxpayers, Br445.5 million was received by the budget in January-April, which is 33% more than in the same period of 2009. This year, tax inspectorates have identified and registered almost 120 landlords. In January-April, tax authorities conducted a preliminary analysis of the income of more than 2 thousand individuals. Based on the results of the control over taxation of individuals' income, almost 100 citizens had to file income and property declarations, of which about 80% could not confirm the sources of acquisition of expensive property. They had to pay an additional income tax totaling over Br92 million. -0-
