The budgets of the Vitebsk region districts are to become self-sufficient by 2013

This requirement was put forward today at an off-site meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee to the heads of district executive committees by the chairman of the regional executive committee, Alexander Kosinets, BELTA correspondent reports. The governor demanded that when developing five-year programs for the socio-economic development of the districts, all economic opportunities for budget replenishment should be taken into account: creating new productions, establishing effective operation of existing ones, developing roadside service and the service sector, assisting private businesses, while making maximum use of the raw material base. "We cannot miss a single chance," emphasized Alexander Kosinets. Currently, all agricultural districts of the region (21) are subsidized. -0-
