Благотворительный концерт "Земля отцов - земля святая" в Витебске (дополнено)

"The Land of Our Fathers – The Holy Land" – this was the title of a charity concert held in Vitebsk, dedicated to the Year of Small Motherland. The funds raised from ticket sales will be directed towards the improvement and reconstruction of monuments to those who died during the Great Patriotic War.

Holding such an event on the eve of "Slavianski Bazaar" has become a good tradition. For the third year, the most creative enterprise, "Vitebskoblgaz," which is famous for its talents and ability to present an interesting spectacular program, has been the initiator.

The full house at the Summer Amphitheater is a testament to this. It is important that the audience came not only to support amateur artists but also to make a personal contribution to a good cause. More than 6,000 tickets were sold for the concert, raising 70,000 rubles.

"This is a solid sum that representatives of various enterprises have donated for the reconstruction and improvement of memorial sites," emphasized Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies.

The head of the region's deputy corps, speaking before the concert, noted that there are over 1,300 burials, obelisks, and memorial complexes on the territory of the Vitebsk region. Many of them were erected in the 1950s and 1960s.

"The Regional Executive Committee, the Regional Council, and local authorities are doing everything to maintain them in order, but time is relentless, and many need to be restored. A lot has been done in this direction in recent years. It has been less than two years since we solemnly opened the 'Proryv' memorial in Ushachi district after reconstruction, work is nearing completion at the memorial complex in Rossony, and 'Rylionki' in Dubrovno district is next in line," said Vladimir Terentyev.

Concurrently, the Chairman of the Regional Council noted, work is underway to identify the names of the defenders of the Fatherland buried in the region. Over 400,000 soldiers, partisans, and underground fighters rest on our land, and only less than half of their names are inscribed on the obelisks. The rest remain to be identified and immortalized.

This year, several settlements in the Vitebsk region will celebrate the 75th anniversary of their liberation from

German-fascist invaders. First Liozno, then Surazh, Ezerishche, and Gorodok. The concert-action also marked the start of the celebration of these significant dates.

Vladimir Terentyev, who is also the chairman of the regional organization of the RPO "Belaya Rus", presented a letter of gratitude for special contribution to the development of the republican public association to the member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, General Director of UP "Vitebskoblgaz" Petr Shershen. By the way, the primary organization of the Republican Public Association "Belaya Rus" of UP "Vitebskoblgaz" is one of the numerous primary organizations in the republic.

– We want the residents of the region, who came and arrived at the concert from different districts, to feel not only the warmth that comes into their homes with natural gas, but also the warmth of hearts that our groups and performers put into their performances, – said Petr Shershen, accepting the award.

And the audience felt it and thanked the artists with applause and flowers.
