Internal troops demonstrated their skills in the center of Vitebsk on the occasion of their professional holiday
A solemn rally dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the formation of the military unit was held on Victory Square, attended by representatives of regional and city authorities, public organizations, and law enforcement officers.
“The Internal Troops are one of the most important parts of the law enforcement system of the Belarusian state,” said **Brigade Commander Colonel Alexei Kulik**. “We have everything necessary to perform service and combat missions — experience, skill, and the desire to remain faithful to our oath until the end.”
After the official part, demonstration performances by cynologists with service dogs for detecting narcotic substances and apprehending escaped criminals were organized. The audience was delighted by the performance of the guys from the 4th Patrol Company of Military Unit 5524 of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who masterfully demonstrated hand-to-hand combat techniques. Samples of special equipment and weapons were also on display in the square, and attendees could try soldier's porridge.
Next, the personnel of the unit and guests of the event proceeded to the Yanka Kupala National Drama Theatre. The award ceremony for the best servicemen took place there. Those distinguished were awarded with next military ranks, badges, certificates, and letters of appreciation on behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the regional executive committee, and the Internal Troops command. The representatives of the police brigade were congratulated on the holiday by Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev.
