The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will develop an activity strategy until 2016, taking into account modern challenges.
February 3, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The Belarusian Red Cross Society (BRCS) has begun developing the organization's strategy until 2016. This was announced to journalists by the Secretary General of the BRCS, Viktor Kolbanov, in response to a question from a BELTA correspondent. He is attending a meeting of the Presidium of the Vitebsk Regional Red Cross Society, BELTA reports.
The strategy will be based on the main directions and principles of the International Red Cross Movement, taking into account new challenges and changes that have occurred in the modern world in recent years. "At the end of 2009, the General Assembly of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) adopted a new strategy for the organization's activities, and all changes and innovations of the international strategy will also be reflected in the national document," Viktor Kolbanov noted. In particular, this concerns the need to consider the consequences of climate change, migration situations, social problems related to unemployment, as well as the global economic crisis in the work. "It is necessary to build a new strategy taking into account the possibility of recurrence of crisis phenomena in the economy in order to better prepare for responding to their consequences," said Viktor Kolbanov.
The new directions of the IFRC's activities will be adapted to Belarusian conditions and regional specifics. It is planned to involve all BRCS organizations without exception in the development of the strategy. Work on the document should be completed this year, undergo approval by the IFRC, and the draft document is expected to be presented for public discussion. The approval of the new strategy will take place at the BRCS congress in 2011. -0-
