More than 10,000 participants will unite in the "Belarus is a Sports Country" campaign in the Vitebsk region

More than 10,000 people will take part in the republican sports and youth event "Belarus - Sports Country", which will be held on December 2 in the Vitebsk region. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the department of physical culture, sports and tourism of the regional executive committee. The main heroes of the opening of the celebration in the northern region will be the pupils of family-type orphanages in the Vitebsk district. Olympic medalists Tatyana Stukalova and Igor Kanygin will visit them with gifts. Then the epicenter of the festive events will move to the regional center. A meeting will be held between Olympic champion Vyacheslav Yanovsky and silver medalist of the 2008 Olympics Vadim Devyatovsky with students of Vitebsk universities. A seminar on Olympic education will be organized for employees of educational institutions. Throughout the day, on various platforms of the regional center, demonstration performances by young athletes will be held, who will be able to learn professional skills from leading coaches and athletes of national teams during master classes in gymnastics, swimming, and ice hockey. A sportsland will be organized for children from large families at secondary school No. 49. The event will conclude with a concert and entertainment program and a sports and pop show in the Vitebsk Concert Hall. In total, more than 70 sports and mass events will be held in all districts of the Vitebsk region as part of the campaign. The republican sports and youth event "Belarus - Sports Country" is being held from November 16 to December 15 of the current year.
