More than 100 new enterprises started operating in the economy of the Vitebsk region in the first half of the year

Over 100 new enterprises and 29 production facilities were launched in the economy of the Vitebsk region in the first half of the year, as reported by the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Economy Committee.

In total, from January to June of this year, 100 new enterprises and 29 production facilities started operating in the region across all types of economic activity. Among them are LLC "Tricotazhnaya fabrika "MILA BSV" for the production of outerwear (Verkhnedvinsk district), UP "Promis Plant" (production of machinery and equipment for agriculture, Postavy district), LLC "Drev-Invest" (sawing and planing of wood, Sharkovshchyna district). LLC "Novaya Lady", LLC "Polishelk" and PE "AltezaGrand" joined the sewing production facilities in Vitebsk, creating over 130 jobs.

A feed production workshop has been established at OJSC "Vitebskaya Broiler Factory". Currently, large-scale investment projects with completion dates in 2017 are being implemented at some major enterprises in the region. For example, the second stage of modernization is actively underway at the Orsha Flax Combine. OJSC "Gluboksky Dairy and Canned Food Plant" is building a workshop for the production of dry whey and dry milk products. At the Braslav branch of this enterprise, the existing cheese production is being modernized to increase the output of hard cheeses to 15 tons per day.

The committee also noted the active work of enterprises and organizations in the region to improve competitiveness and the quality of manufactured products. This allowed for the shipment of innovative products worth Br1.6 billion in the first half of the year, or 30.7% of the total shipped products. "Overall, the region's industrial complex ensured profitable operations in the past period," the Economy Committee concluded.
