August 28, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. More than 100 stationary and mobile video projection complexes for serving residents of agro-towns and sparsely populated villages have been purchased in the Vitebsk region as of July 1, the head of the culture department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Pashinsky, told a BELTA correspondent.
By the end of the current year, mobile cinemas will be purchased for the Dubrovno and Ushachi districts. As Nikolai Pashinsky noted, the growth rate of income from paid services by the region's film and video rental enterprises in the first half of 2009 was 125.5%, with film screenings accounting for more than 130%. And the gross income from film and video screenings for 6 months of the current year exceeded Br574 million.
At the same time, the technical condition of the region's cinemas remains problematic, Nikolai Pashinsky added. After reconstruction and equipment modernization, becoming the House of Cinema, here in the first half of the year alone, over Br317 million was earned.
In the current year, in accordance with the regional program for the development of the film and video network, it is planned to allocate over Br6 billion for the repair and technical re-equipment of the region's cinemas. In the first half of the current year, Br420 million was allocated. -0-
