More than 120 students from the Vitebsk region became scholarship holders of the special fund of the President of Belarus in 2009

In the Vitebsk region, 123 schoolchildren became scholarship holders of the special fund of the President of Belarus for the support of talented youth in 2009, the education department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. In the field of culture and art, 22 young talents of the region were awarded for high achievements in various republican and international competitions, with almost half of them being from Orsha. In this regard, a large festive event will be held in Orsha on December 23, during which ten students from three city art schools will be presented with certificates of scholarship holders of the special fund of the President of Belarus for the support of talented youth. A large concert with their participation and an exhibition of works of art will be organized. Many warm words and congratulations will be spoken on this day not only to the heroes of the celebration themselves, but also to their parents and teachers. In total, since 1996, when the fund was established, 1,061 representatives from the Vitebsk region have become its scholarship holders, including more than 100 children who were recognized for their achievements in culture and art.
