More than 1,200 fir trees were sold in the Vitebsk region on the first day of Christmas tree markets

Festive decor made from natural coniferous branches is in high demand at the New Year's fairs of the Vitebsk region. One of the new items this year is bright bouquets or wreaths for decorating doors and windows. The Shumilino forestry was the first to offer such an unusual element for our country to create a festive atmosphere. Its cost is about five rubles.



New Year's tree markets started operating in the Vitebsk region on Monday. In total, the forestries of the northern region plan to sell about 30 thousand New Year trees, informed Maria Mikhnevich, Deputy Head of the organization for ideological work of Vitebsk GPLC. More than a third of this volume will be prepared by Vitebsk, Postavy, Polotsk, and Orsha forestries.

  On the first day of operation of the New Year's tree markets, Vitebsk GPLC sold over 1200 New Year trees. You can buy not only a cut fir tree but also a forest beauty in a tub.

For the convenience of people, the operating hours of the New Year's tree markets have been extended as much as possible. The assortment of these outlets includes firs, pines, as well as New Year's bouquets and fir trees in tubs. The latter traditionally enjoy demand among the population. The cost of a cut New Year tree at the forestries' New Year's tree markets in Vitebsk will be uniform. Thus, a fluffy beauty up to 1 meter tall can be purchased for 11.5 rubles, up to 2 meters – for 14.5 rubles, up to 3 meters – for 21 rubles.

In the pre-New Year period, raid work to stop illegal logging of New Year trees becomes relevant for employees of the state forest guard. Forest patrols will be organized near settlements, roads, and young coniferous stands. Posts will also be set up, including joint ones with traffic police officers.
