More than 15 retail facilities are planned to be opened by the end of the year in the Vitebsk region

More than 15 retail facilities are planned to be opened by the end of the year in the Vitebsk region, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Economy Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. The largest of them is the Kopeechka retail center of ODO "Kopeechka" in Orsha. The implementation of these projects is carried out within the framework of the "Vittorg" subprogram of the Regional Program for Innovation and Investment Development of the Vitebsk Region for 2011-2015. In total, from 2011 to October 1 of the current year, 43 out of 73 planned measures with implementation starting in 2011-2012 have been completed under this subprogram in the region, and 23 measures are being implemented. Over this period, Br388.5 billion has been invested, and about 3.1 thousand jobs have been created. 29.3 thousand sq.m. of retail space has been commissioned, which has increased the provision of retail space to the population by 24 sq.m. per 1 thousand people. By 2012, over Br15 billion is to be invested in the implementation of the document's measures, and 120 jobs are planned to be created. In general, since the beginning of the program document's implementation, major retail facilities have been opened in Vitebsk: the "Marko-City" business center of SOOO "Marko", the "Korona" hypermarket of OOO "Tabak-invest", the "Omega" trade and service center of SZAO "Firma Omega" in the Bilevo-1 microdistrict and a supermarket on V. Internatsionalistov Street, the "Vitebskiye Produkty" OAO trade and administrative complex, the "Ganna" shopping center and the "U Ganny" restaurant of OAO "Vitebskaya Broyler" Poultry Farm. In the consumer cooperation system, 25 stores have been commissioned in Verkhnedvinsk, Gluboksky, Gorodok, Liozno, Orsha, Tolochin and Shumilino districts. In addition, projects for the construction of stores in Chashniki by ChUP "Chashnikskaya Mezhraybaza" and Shumilino by Shumilino Raypo have been completed ahead of schedule, the modernization of the "Promtovary" store No. 4 of OAO "UniversalTorg" in Novolukoml has begun, and the reconstruction of a building for a store in Beshenkovichi. The "Vittorg" subprogram is aimed at creating conditions for the most complete satisfaction of the population's demand for a range of goods and services, improving the quality of service based on the introduction of an effective distribution system, expanding the infrastructure of the retail network, and re-equipping the industry.
