More than 15,000 schoolchildren from the Vitebsk region visited iconic Belarusian landmarks
An educational project, within the framework of which 15,000 schoolchildren from the Vitebsk region visited significant landmarks of Belarus, is being implemented not only in the Vitebsk region but throughout the country, noted Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
Budgetary financing, republican and local authorities, is distributed in such a way that 10th-11th grade students can visit significant places of our beautiful republic within the framework of educational programs. Not just the region, but the country as a whole. It would be useful to expand the project to 7th-8th grades, as it is very important at this age to sow the seed of Belarusian historical memory.
I am confident that this educational project will be a good support for history teachers. In 2019, before we started implementing the project, about 3,000 students participated in group tourist trips. This year, 15,000 schoolchildren from the Vitebsk region have already visited significant historical sites in Belarus.
