More than 150 people were evacuated due to a fire at the Vitebsk City Clinical Dental Polyclinic, Marina Fando, press secretary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, told a BELTA correspondent. The report of a fire on the third floor of the polyclinic was received today at 11:59 AM. Heavy smoke was observed on the third floor of the three-story brick building of the medical institution, and property was burning in the storage room of the orthopedic department. When the fire broke out, the automatic fire alarm system and the voice notification system were activated in the building, thanks to which some people left the building in a timely manner. 3 people were rescued from the polyclinic by the Ministry of Emergency Situations: two with the use of a rescue mask, and one visitor was retrieved from the elevator between the first and second floors. With the help of medical staff, a total of 156 people were evacuated. As a result of the fire, a computer desk and a computer were damaged in the storage room. The cause of the incident and the damage are being determined. Currently, the polyclinic has resumed receiving visitors and is operating normally, the medical institution informed a BELTA correspondent. -0-
