More than 150 combine crews in the Vitebsk region have threshed 1,000 tons or more during the grain harvest.
August 22, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotovets - BELTA/. More than 150 combine crews in the Vitebsk region have surpassed the mark of 1 thousand tons and more in grain harvesting this year, which is more than double the number of thousand-ton crews based on the results of the 2010 agricultural work. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the regional committee of the agro-industrial complex workers' union.
Among the leaders of the harvesting campaign is combine operator Vladimir Lapkovsky from Prudiniki OJSC, who, working on a New-Holland combine, threshed almost 2.3 thousand tons of grain. Over the past weekend, another two-thousand-ton crew appeared in the region - combine operators Leonid Paramonov and Alexander Karazeev from SPK Kolkhoz Ol'govskoye of the Vitebsk district. As of August 22, the Vitebsk residents on a KZS-1218 combine threshed almost 2.2 thousand tons of grain. Unlike Vladimir Lapkovsky, they have a chance to surpass the 2.5 thousand ton mark, as work is still ongoing in the Vitebsk district, while harvesting is practically completed in the Verkhnedvinsk district. By the way, among the farms of the Vitebsk region, Kolkhoz Ol'govskoye is among the top three in terms of yield with a result of 57.2 centners per hectare, while SPK Larinovka of the Orsha district and Orshansky Rayagroservis OJSC, which are ahead of it, achieve yields of 57.3 centners per hectare and 57.4 centners per hectare, respectively.
Third in terms of threshed grain in the regional operational competition is combine operator Anatoly Zhilinsky from the Lepel Variety Testing Station, who, as of the morning of August 22, put 1 thousand 980 tons of grain into the granaries.
In total, 13 crews in the region threshed 1.5 thousand tons of grain each.
Among the youth, 17 crews surpassed the 1 thousand ton mark, including Verkhnedvinsk combine operators Sergey Gapanovich and Alexey Pilyushin. They have firmly established themselves as leaders in the youth operational competition with a result of almost 1.7 thousand tons. In addition, in the Dubrovno district, five youth crews at once reached a threshed amount of one thousand tons or more during the harvest.
In the Vitebsk region, grain crops have been harvested from an area of over 387.4 thousand hectares, or 87.7%. 1 million 180 thousand tons of grain have been threshed with an average yield of 30.5 centners per hectare. Chashniki and Verkhnedvinsk districts were the first in the region to fully complete the harvesting of grain and leguminous crops, and within the current week, mass harvesting is planned to be completed in the region as a whole. The largest harvest is obtained by farmers in the Orsha district, whose contribution to the regional harvest is about 108.4 thousand tons, followed by farms in Vitebsk (90.2 thousand tons) and Verkhnedvinsk (80 thousand tons) districts. At the finish of the harvest, the highest yield was recorded in Verkhnedvinsk (33.5 centners per hectare), Orsha (33.4 centners per hectare), and Dubrovno (33.3 centners per hectare) districts.
