More than 165,000 residents of the Vitebsk region have received booster vaccinations against COVID-19
Active work is underway in the Vitebsk region to revaccinate the region's population. Medical workers urge those who completed primary vaccination six or more months ago to get a booster vaccination. "Booster vaccination helps maintain protection against coronavirus infection and its adverse consequences, so it is recommended for citizens who have completed a full vaccination course six months ago," noted Vladimir Sinkevich.
The Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the region said that in the Vitebsk region, 71.5% of the adult population have completed a full course of primary vaccination. Among them, the majority are eligible for revaccination. At the same time, the statistics for those who received the first component of the vaccine have practically leveled off – 72.1% of the region's residents have received it.
Vladimir Sinkevich also emphasized that, considering the forecast of an increase in coronavirus incidence by early autumn and before the start of the academic year, attention should be paid to vaccinating children. In total, in the Vitebsk region, 26.4% of the total number of children aged 12-17 years have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
"Along with vaccination, it is recommended to adhere to the generally known rules of COVID-19 prevention: observe respiratory etiquette, wash hands after visiting public places, and treat them with antiseptic agents. Seek medical attention at the first signs of malaise," reminded the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Vitebsk region.
