More than 200 children took part in the regional stages of military-patriotic games in Vitebsk
– The military-patriotic games are taking place on the parade ground of a renowned unit. The young people who have come here are ready to defend the honor of their district and region in the finals. The main task today is to demonstrate the knowledge and skills in physical training that they have acquired throughout their training, – emphasized the Deputy Head of the Ideological Work Department of the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade, Guards Major Andrey Balanescu.
According to Irina Alyushina, Head of the Organizational and Program Activities Department of the regional committee of the BRSM, the competitions, which can rightly be called a school of courage and character building, have gathered about 200 young people from general secondary education institutions, as well as secondary vocational education institutions.
The "Orlyonok" teams will have to demonstrate their skills in the drill and song review competition, undergo tests for accuracy, and overcome obstacles in the military-sports challenge. In addition, the teams need to present a "Combat Leaflet" as part of the creative stage.
The "Fakel" team from Lepel district intends to make every effort to pass the game stages. It includes four brave and spirited girls.
– We trained hard, did abdominal exercises, ran, and honed our drill training. We are not newcomers to the "Orlyonok" game; last year, we took first place at the regional stage. This time, we also intend to perform excellently, – shared Daria Reut, captain of the "Fakel" team.
In "Zarnitsa. Northern Region," the best participants among the members of Youth Law Enforcement Detachments will be determined. They compete in sports and applied multi-event, military relay, drill training competition, and others. Daniil Kalachinsky is performing for the first time as part of the "Zarnitsa" team from Vitebsk State Technological College. He is confident that physical fitness is important in any endeavor.
– We focused most on drill maneuvers, marching with the performance of a drill song. We also improved our physical fitness. I really enjoy going through the obstacle course and the military relay, and I hope we will give other teams a run for their money in these challenges, – said Daniil.
The games are organized by the regional committee of the NGO "BRSM," the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade, the main department for education of the regional executive committee, the main department for ideology and youth affairs of the regional executive committee, the main department for healthcare of the regional executive committee, and the Vitebsk regional organizational structure of DOSAAF.
