More than 2.5 thousand birdhouses and titmouse houses have been installed in the Vitebsk region for International Bird Day
Over 3,000 people took part in events dedicated to International Bird Day on April 1 in the Vitebsk region.
According to Lyudmila Kapranova, Head of the Department of the Regional Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, over 2,500 artificial nests, including starling houses, tit houses, goldeneye houses, and owl houses, have been installed on school grounds, in parks, and forest areas.
Educational institutions hosted information sessions, quizzes, contests, master classes on making artificial nests, and lectures about the Bird of 2019 – the Greater Spotted Eagle.
Representatives of the environmental protection service, members of the Regional Coordination Environmental Council, along with students and faculty of VSU named after P. Masherov, hung starling houses in the park near the university (pictured).
