More than 3,000 young people from the Vitebsk region have applied to participate in the "Labor Semester-2018"
The solemn opening of the third labor semester, dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Belarusian student team movement, took place at the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Hero of the Soviet Union M. Shmyryov.
The participants took part in the quest game "Addresses of Memory" on the events of the Great Patriotic War and planted apple trees on the territory of the museum complex. The initiation into the fighters of the foreign pedagogical team "NLO named after M. Shmyryov" and the now traditional event "We Choose a Student Team!" also took place.
The head of the main department of ideological work, culture and youth affairs of the regional executive committee, Gennady Egorov, came to congratulate the participants on this important event. Gennady Mikhailovich wished the youth new labor achievements and vivid impressions.
As noted by the first secretary of the regional committee of the NGO "BRSM", Viktor Glushin, the young people who work in student teams prove themselves in the best possible way, working both at facilities within the region and beyond, for example, at the All-Belarusian Youth Construction Project – the Belarusian NPP – and in the Russian Federation. They are distinguished by their diligence, responsibility, initiative, and any undertaking is within their capabilities.
Despite the fact that the third labor semester has just begun, within the framework of the "We Choose a Student Team!" campaign, applications from those wishing to be employed are actively being received by the territorial headquarters of student teams. In the Vitebsk region, there are currently more than 3 thousand such applicants.
According to Viktor Valerievich, young people who will be working in the Krasnodar Territory this summer will combine business with pleasure. Although they won't earn a lot of money, they will have a great opportunity to relax by the sea. The highest salaries will be in construction crews, where they can earn a thousand rubles or more. This year, it is also planned to launch veterinary crews. The Veterinary Academy is showing initiative in their creation, but this project is still under development.
The student team movement is one of the leading activities of the BRSM. The Youth Union offers young men and women the opportunity to work in construction, agricultural, pedagogical, environmental, service, and medical teams. For example, this year alone, over 120 young people will be working in the Russian Federation. Tomorrow, the first student teams will depart for the All-Russian Children's Center "Orlyonok" as part of the "NLO named after M. Shmyrev" team.
One of the representatives from the Vitebsk region who will be going to "Orlyonok" tomorrow is Svetlana Lyovkina, a first-year student at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of VSU named after P. Masherov.
– This is my first experience working as a counselor, – the girl admitted. – Undoubtedly, the trip will bring me many impressions and give me practical skills, as my profession is directly related to working with children. This is a great opportunity to understand if I made the right professional choice.
