3076 students have been admitted to higher education institutions of the Vitebsk region for full-time study, and more than 3,000 of them have joined trade unions.

First-year students of Polotsk State University, Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine, and Vitebsk State Medical University demonstrated high activity in joining the trade union. Here, 100% of students became trade union members.

According to Alexander Myasoedov, Chairman of the Student Trade Union Committee of Vitebsk State Medical University, the committee seeks new forms of motivational work and, most importantly, informs students about the social support provided by trade union organizations and the opportunities for self-realization through trade union membership. It should be noted that the student trade union primary organization successfully fulfills its tasks by attracting young people with bright prospects for professional and creative development.

This, as well as the main directions of the student trade union's work, was discussed at the first meeting of the trade union school, attended by group organizers and trade union organizers of the first-year students of the medical and pharmaceutical faculties.

Opening the meeting, Alexander Myasoedov congratulated the students on joining the largest public organization and reminded them of the significant role of a trade union organizer in the public life of the university. Alexander Mikhailovich also informed the young trade union leaders about the goals and objectives of the industry trade union and the events held by the primary student trade union organization of VSMU.

Ilya Sarma, Deputy Chairman of the Trade Union Committee and participant of the International Youth Educational Forum "TEMP-2016" for students, shared his personal experience of the positive aspects that a trade union organization offers to a student. He acquainted the trade union organizers with the prospects for the further development of the trade union movement in Belarus and with international cooperation with trade unions of other countries.
