More than 30 agricultural organizations in the Vitebsk region have been fined for safety violations during the harvest campaign

August 1, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. For the first decade of the safety month in agriculture, fines have been imposed on 31 organizations of the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region out of 45 inspected, the first deputy head of the Vitebsk regional department of the state labor inspection department, Sergey Anufriev, told a BELTA correspondent.

Since July 18, a check of compliance with labor protection and safety requirements in agricultural organizations during mass harvesting operations has been carried out in the region. From the beginning of the campaign until July 29, 45 business entities were inspected, and 43 reports were issued. 31 farms were brought to administrative responsibility for violations, the amount of fines amounted to Br21.7 million, and 15 officials were brought to responsibility. During the inspections, 85 people were suspended from work, and the operation of 49 machines and mechanisms was prohibited.

According to Sergey Anufriev, the most common violations for farmers in the Vitebsk region are allowing drivers, tractor drivers, and combine operators to work without checking their knowledge of labor protection issues, and the absence of unscheduled labor protection briefings before starting work. Agricultural machinery lacks the required guards for cardan, chain, and belt drives, and there are no protective guards for loading and inspection pits, and hopper bins. Inspectors also noted that officials in some farms do not ensure control over employees' compliance with the requirements of the internal labor regulations, labor protection instructions, and other regulatory legal acts, and pre-trip and post-trip medical examinations of drivers and machine operators are not always carried out.
