More than 300 young musicians will take part in the Vitebsk Children's Creativity Festival
April 9, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotovets - BELTA /. More than 300 of the best young musicians will take part in the XX Vitebsk Festival of Children's and Youth Creativity, which opens on April 12 at the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic. This was announced today at a press conference by Stanislav Generalnitsky, chief specialist of the regional executive committee's culture department, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The festival is viewed as a kind of creative report of the system for working with talented children and adolescents operating in the Vitebsk region, which includes over 50 music and art schools with more than 14,000 children studying there. The main objectives of the music forum are to identify and support the most talented children, for whom opportunities are provided to gain concert performance experience, as well as to attract a children's and youth audience to appreciate classical music. In addition, for teachers, the festival offers an excellent opportunity for professional communication and professional development, noted Stanislav Generalnitsky.
The festival program, which includes seven concerts, will feature various genres of musical art. The right to open the festival program is granted to the best children's choirs, which were selected based on the results of the recently concluded regional review competition. The choral music concert will feature exemplary choirs from Ushachi, Orsha, and Vitebsk. They will perform works by composers of choral music classics. Moreover, at least half of the program will consist of a cappella pieces, which is considered the highest level of difficulty, emphasized Stanislav Generalnitsky.
Two festival concerts will be dedicated to the scholarship holders of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the Support of Talented Youth. Ekaterina Mochalova (domra) and Nikolai Kovalevich (balalaika), Polina Belkina (piano), Maria Rakel (violin), Valentina Bondarenko (organ), Dmitry Yukhnevich (violin), and Arseny Sadykov (piano), laureates of international and republican competitions, will showcase their art.
This year, young musicians from Russia will visit Vitebsk to perform for admirers of classical music. The folk instrument orchestra of Smolensk Children's Art School No. 2 will take part in the orchestral music concert. Students of the Vitebsk State College of Arts will present their report performance as part of the festival. In addition, young talents from this educational institution will stage the play "Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka" based on the novella by Nikolai Gogol, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Russian classic.
The festival program will conclude on April 30 with a performance by the honored amateur collective of the Republic of Belarus, the classical dance ensemble "Pirouette" from Vitebsk Children's Art School No. 1.
The festival is organized by the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and City Executive Committee, as well as the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic. -0-
