More than 300 projects were presented by young researchers from the Vitebsk region at the first scientific work competition
January 26, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. More than 300 works were submitted by young researchers to the competition of scientific research projects of students, which is being held for the first time in the Vitebsk region. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Alexander Dedinkin, head of the research department of Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov.
The competition is held in six areas (Russian and Belarusian philology; history and social studies; Romance-Germanic philology; physics, mathematics and computer science; biology; ecology, geography and chemistry). Based on the results of the correspondence round, the expert commission selected the 15 best, most developed projects in each area for participation in the final stage of the intellectual competition. The final stage of the competition will be held in person on February 12 at the university. Finalists will have to give a 10-minute presentation of their projects. Winners will have the right to represent the region at the republican competition of scientific research projects of students. In addition, the prize-winners of the regional competition will be awarded valuable gifts, and their scientific advisors and teachers will be encouraged by the education department of the regional executive committee.
The competition is held in accordance with the program of interaction between Vitebsk State University and the regional institute for the development of education on the organization of scientific research activities of students, which has been implemented by the universities since 2010. The program aims to create additional conditions for unlocking the creative abilities of schoolchildren and developing interest in scientific research work. The program activities include various forms of joint work of schoolchildren, teachers and university methodologists on scientific research activities. For example, at the end of 2010, the regional distance Olympiad in algebra in memory of Professor Konstantin Ananchenko was held for the first time in the region, in which more than 500 students of grades 7-9 of general education schools took part. In the future, it is planned to make this event traditional and provide for the possibility of participation of schoolchildren from other regions. In February, it is planned to hold the regional tournament of young physicists for the first time, as well as a series of scientific and methodological seminars for secondary school teachers on the organization of scientific research work in educational institutions.
In total, there are more than 370 student scientific societies operating in the region's schools, including over 130 of them organized on the basis of primary schools. -0-
