More than 4,000 students from universities and secondary vocational schools in the Vitebsk region are helping farmers with the harvest

This year, by decision of the regional executive committee, more than 4,000 university students, as well as students of vocational-technical and secondary specialized educational institutions, will go to agricultural enterprises to harvest potatoes, vegetables, and flax.

Every autumn, young people provide tangible assistance to the agrarians of the Vitebsk region in their fight for the harvest.

This year, by decision of the regional executive committee, more than four thousand university students, as well as students of vocational-technical and secondary specialized educational institutions, will go to agricultural enterprises to harvest potatoes, vegetables, and flax. In addition, at the discretion of local executive committees, schoolchildren (about a thousand people daily) may also be involved in agricultural work, although the duration of stay "on potato harvesting" for high school students is no more than two weeks.
