More than 40 ice rinks will be flooded in Vitebsk in the coming days
Over 40 ice rinks will be flooded in Vitebsk in the coming days. This was announced by Igor Kiryutenko, Head of the Department of Education, Sports and Tourism of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, at a traditional press conference dedicated to the New Year and Christmas events held in the regional center.
According to him, five large ice rinks will operate in the city, two of which will traditionally be located on Victory Square. Ice rinks will also appear everywhere in courtyards and on the grounds of educational institutions as soon as a stable sub-zero temperature is established. "The Snow Day event scheduled for January 13 in the city also depends on the whims of the weather. The ice sculpture competition, which is highly anticipated not only by residents but also by participants and local authorities, is also eagerly awaited. Unfortunately, last year it could not be held due to temperature fluctuations," added Igor Kiryutenko.
