More than 400 paratrooper recruits took the military oath in Vitebsk

Over 400 recruits of the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade took their military oath in Vitebsk.

Recruits of the 103rd Separate Airborne Brigade gathered on Victory Square, who will serve in the Vitebsk unit and will be sent to the 38th Brest Separate Guards Assault Brigade. For the young reinforcement, this is a very important and exciting moment.

The guys told a BELTA correspondent about the emotions they are experiencing on this day. Andrey Tikhonov from Vitebsk joined the compulsory service after graduating from university. Having received a specialty as a physical education teacher, he decided to pay his debt to the Motherland. The young man wanted to join an elite unit, which, in his opinion, is the Vitebsk airborne brigade. He is in good physical shape, as he practiced mixed martial arts and holds the title of Master of Sports in this discipline. "Taking the oath is a responsible moment for me. My parents are waiting for me back home, whom I am obliged to protect both as a son and as a paratrooper. My friends know where I am serving, many supported my choice, and some are envious in a good way, because I got into the elite troops," the young man shared.

His fellow serviceman Vladislav Sysoev is from Borisov. He also came to serve in Vitebsk by the call of his heart, and the fame of the 103rd Airborne Brigade attracted him. Before taking the oath, he was nervous and afraid of letting his commanders down by doing something wrong. "The oath is an important event in my life, it is taken only once, and I want to remember this day for the rest of my life. I expect a lot from my service, perhaps even adventures. This is a new world that is very interesting to me," said the resident of Borisov. Today he will go on leave, meet his parents who came to support him, and plans to have a good meal and rest a little.

Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin addressed the recruits with words of encouragement and congratulations on this significant event: "Today, our country has gained almost five hundred more defenders. Airborne soldiers, I want to wish you to remember this day for the rest of your lives and carry these bright feelings throughout your military or civilian career. I also want to entrust you with continuing to carry the banner of the paratroopers with pride and high honor."

Servicemembers of special operations forces are always considered an example of honor and dignity, not only in the Armed Forces but also in civilian life. "At all times and among all peoples, the warrior, the defender of the Fatherland, has been surrounded by attention, respect, and care. Military service has always been considered an honorable male duty. Respected servicemen, from this moment on, you are entrusted with the honorable and responsible duty of defending our Motherland, its independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. It is symbolic that the military ritual of taking the oath takes place in Vitebsk on Victory Square. There are no easy paths for special operations forces servicemen, and it is not for nothing that our motto is "Nobody but us." The new recruits will have to walk stony roads and acquire qualities such as honor, duty, courage, nobility, and true male friendship. The Belarusian people can be confident: no matter what trials our country faces, the special operations forces of the Armed Forces will always act in its interests," emphasized the Deputy Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, Colonel Dmitry Sobol.-0-
