More than 400 pupils and students are involved in agricultural work in the Vitebsk region

August 2, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. More than 400 pupils and students are helping the villagers of the Vitebsk region with agricultural work, the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the BRSM informed a BELTA correspondent.

The work mainly involves weeding vegetables and root crops in various farms of the region. At the same time, the youth also provide their feasible assistance in other areas. For example, students helped agricultural organizations in Beshenkovichsky, Sennensky, Tolochinsky, and Miorsky districts to harvest blackcurrants, strawberries, and other berries, and at OJSC "Kuptsov" in Glubokoye, they are engaged in canning green peas. With the start of the grain harvesting campaign, young people found an application for their efforts at grain receiving points in Sharkovshchinsky, Shumilinsky, and Miorsky districts.

The main contingent of students is expected in the region's farms in September. It is planned that more than 4,000 students will help farmers harvest flax, potatoes, and other crops.-0-
