More than 45.4 thousand schoolchildren in the Vitebsk region vacationed in health camps during the summer holidays
During the summer period, 28 stationary suburban health resorts operated in the Vitebsk region, including 5 sports and health resorts. Additionally, 11 camps were opened on the rented premises of boarding schools and general education schools. Furthermore, 114 9-day specialized camps with round-the-clock stays operated, including 11 labor and recreation camps (LTO). On the basis of general education and sports schools, 701 camps with daytime stays functioned, including 91 LTO. In the Vitebsk region, 100 defense and patriotic profile camps were organized, including 48 in military units, 22 in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and 30 camps with the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Funds from local budgets were used to assist in paying for vouchers for children from preferential categories and children of employees of budget organizations. Great attention was paid to the employment of students. In 102 labor and recreation camps, 1,716 teenagers underwent health improvement. Agreements were concluded between LTOs and host organizations for landscaping work at dairy farms, military graves and obelisks, repair of school premises and furniture, weeding of saplings and seedlings in forestry nurseries, and berry picking at agricultural enterprises. In particular, 60 teenagers from Tolochin picked berries for subsequent processing at a cannery (the average salary of young pickers was about Br100). Teenagers from Vitebsk worked at the Vitebsk Forestry Enterprise of the Voronovo Forestry - the guys trimmed bushes and formed hedges from woody and shrubby species.
Traditionally, vouchers for the summer period were allocated to children in need of social protection - more than 2.2 thousand orphans and children left without parental care, 705 children with disabilities, and 6,857 boys and girls from large and low-income families visited health resorts.
The health improvement of
useful employment for difficult teenagers. For example, in the Braslav district, in cooperation with the Military Academy, a 9-day tent-based defense and sports health camp "Defender of the Fatherland" was organized, which enrolled 70 boys aged 16-17, including 20 from the category of difficult teenagers.In the Horadok district, in cooperation with military unit 94017, a sports and patriotic camp "Patriot" was held with round-the-clock stay (9 days) - the children visited the institutions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Department of Internal Affairs, events were held at the Losvido military training ground, climbing wall, etc.
