More than 5,000 artists will take part in the XVIII International Festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk"
June 19, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. More than 5,000 artists will take part in the XVIII International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk," said Rodion Bass, General Director of the Vitebsk Culture Center, at a press conference today, BELTA correspondent reports.
"The artistic level of the festival promises to be very high," said the permanent director of the festival. The production team has used all interesting proposals received during the competition for the best concept of festival concerts and competitions, which was held last year. For example, 4 production teams worked on the "Vitebsk-2009" pop song performers competition.
This year's festival will traditionally host the Days of Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine, and the Day of the Union State will be held. Latvia has sent a large delegation of artists and painters to the festival - about 100 people. Creative groups and performers from Kazakhstan, Israel, China, and Vietnam will be guests of the festival. In total, flags of 35 states will fly on the flagpoles - this is how many countries have sent their representatives to the cultural forum.
More than 200 journalists will cover the festival events. Applications for accreditation have already closed. As usual, a large group of correspondents will come from Russian regions. The concerts of the festival will be broadcast by "Belteлерадиокомпания" and the "Russia" TV channel. For the first time, Russian viewers will see the performances of the young performers competition participants in full. In addition, Russians will be able to watch recordings of the opening and closing concerts of the festival and the days of national cultures - Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. Belarusian viewers will be able to watch the festival extravaganza live - all concerts, except for solo night performances, will be broadcast on the First Television Channel.
Despite the wide opportunities offered by modern television, viewers do not give up the pleasure of immersing themselves in the festive atmosphere that the festival provides. About 60% of tickets for concerts and performances have already been sold. As Rodion Bass noted, the greatest excitement at the ticket offices occurs in the last pre-festival days - it is then that all tickets are sold out. -0-
