More than 50,000 people in the Vitebsk region have been vaccinated free of charge against the A/H1N1 influenza virus
January 25, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. More than 50 thousand people in the Vitebsk region have been vaccinated free of charge against influenza A/H1N1 virus, the Vitebsk Regional Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health informed a BELTA correspondent.
Vaccinations were administered to medical personnel, workers ensuring the uninterrupted operation of vital systems - employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, housing and communal services, transport, communications, and energy. Meanwhile, vaccination against this virus continues: central district and city polyclinics have begun purchasing drugs for paid vaccination for all who wish. However, according to medical professionals, the decline in seasonal flu and respiratory viral infections has affected the fact that residents of the region are not yet in a hurry to get vaccinated at their own expense.
According to sanitary doctors, the incidence of ARVI and influenza in the region is currently at a non-epidemic level. Morbidity monitoring, launched on October 1, continues in four control cities - Vitebsk, Orsha, Polotsk, and Novopolotsk. -0-
