More than 50% of educational institutions in the Vitebsk region have received readiness certificates
More than half of the educational institutions in the Vitebsk region have already received readiness certificates for the new academic year, as reported by the main department for education of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
A total of 829 educational institutions of various types will operate in the region in the new season, including 344 schools and 412 kindergartens. Br37.4 million was allocated for their renovation. The preparation of educational institutions has been underway since April, with the main volume of work traditionally carried out during the summer holidays.
"The acceptance of facilities and the issuance of their readiness certificates are proceeding systematically in accordance with the established schedule. This work is planned to be completed by August 23," the specialists noted. The most significant renovation was carried out at secondary school No. 2 in Braslav (which will host the regional village workers' fair-festival "Dazhynki"). The school's interior has been completely renovated, the adjacent territory has been landscaped, and a multifunctional sports ground with artificial turf and a traffic rules learning area have been added. The reconstruction of the Zaslonovskaya secondary school in the Lepel district is ongoing. The canteen has already been completely renovated, and design and estimate documentation for other major works on the facility is being prepared, which will in the future provide conditions for organizing a preschool group for 20 children on the first floor of the building and relieve the overcrowded local kindergarten.
Thus, the needs of the population of the Zaslonovo settlement and nearby settlements in preschool education will be fully met. Among the new facilities scheduled to open in the region in the near future, the department mentioned a new building under construction at the Polotsk Cadet School (completion is planned for 2021) and two educational institutions in the regional center: a school for 1.2 thousand places in the Bilevo-2 microdistrict (completion this year) and a kindergarten in the Bilevo-3 microdistrict (2020, respectively).
