More than 500 dancers will take part in the regional review-competition "Pridvinskye Lace"
May 22, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. More than 500 artists will take part in the IV regional review-competition of folk dance "Pridvinskiye Krujeva" (Dvina Lace), which will be held on May 23 in Gorodok (Vitebsk region), the regional methodological center of folk art informed a BELTA correspondent.
The review-competition "Pridvinskiye Krujeva" is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Honored Worker of Culture of Belarus Ivan Serikov. Among the participants of the event will be the 9-year-old grandson of the renowned ballet master - also Ivan Serikov.
19 exemplary and folk choreographic ensembles, including 15 children's and 4 adult ones, will present their work at the creative competition. The review will be held in three nominations: best performance of Ivan Serikov's original dances; best new work by a choreographer; best folk dance created on local traditions. The concert program includes about 50 numbers. Winners and prize-winners will be awarded the titles of laureates and diploma winners of the review-competition, and all participants will be encouraged with commemorative awards.
The main goal of the review-competition is the development and promotion of Belarusian folk dance. The traditional creative competition is held once every two years and enjoys constant popularity among dance ensembles, which strive to get into the competition program of the event. This is an undeniable testament to the fact that the creative heritage of Ivan Serikov continues to live in the repertoire of numerous dance ensembles of the Pridvinye region, the methodological center emphasized.
In addition to the concert program, participants of the review-competition will hold an event in Gorodok called "We are your heirs, Victory!", dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
The organizers of the review-competition are the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the regional methodological center of folk art. -0-
