The youth camp «Be-La-Rus» in the Verkhnedvinsk district will bring together over 500 participants from three countries
The International Youth Camp "Be-La-Rus" will bring together friends on the border of three countries: Belarus, Latvia, and Russia.
For three days, from July 26 to 29, the XXVII International Youth Camp "Be-La-Rus" will be held. The traditional ideological inspirers are the Public Association "Belarusian Republican Youth Union", the Society "Youth for Progress Union of Latvia", and the All-Russian Public Organization "Russian Union of Youth".
The youth camp will bring together over 500 young people – representatives of national delegations – active members of youth organizations of the project's founding countries, veterans of the youth movement, and honorary guests. The event will be held under the motto: "Breathe freely!".
Regardless of the weather, the youth camp program is traditionally rich in sports events, including football and volleyball championships, and darts competitions.
As always, the creative component of the camp is of particular interest. For the first time, the camp will host the competition and entertainment program "B.A.Ya.N." (Be-La-Russian Assortment of Bright and Resourceful) – a joint two-day project of two international teams.
An important place in the program is given to patriotic events: a rally in memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, a commemorative laying of flowers at the monuments to the Komsomol members of the Proshkovo underground in Belarus, and to the second secretary of the underground district committee of the Komsomol, Hero of the Soviet Union, partisan scout Maria Pynko – in Russia. Traditionally, the camp participants will hand over a wreath through the Latvian border guards to be laid at the monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union Imants Sudmalis.
The objective of the international youth project is to develop and strengthen existing contacts and cooperation between the youth of various employment sectors of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Latvia, and the Russian Federation, to provide young people with an opportunity to express themselves in a multifaceted way in creative, sports, and educational events, and to foster interaction between leaders and heads of youth organizations for the purpose of experience exchange.
Annually, the functions of the host party are transferred to one of the founders of the International Youth Camp "Be-La-Rus". This year, the baton of the main organizer has passed to the Union for Youth Progress of Latvia.
