More than 680 women from the Vitebsk region have been awarded the Order of Motherhood since the establishment of the award. This figure was announced today at a festive event dedicated to International Women's Day in Vitebsk by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev.

Today, over 700 representatives of enterprises and organizations, leaders and activists of public associations, mothers with many children, and labor veterans gathered at the Vitebsk Concert Hall. Welcoming and congratulating them on the upcoming holiday, Vladimir Terentyev emphasized the important role of women in all spheres of life and activity: education, culture, sports, business, trade, and public administration. He particularly noted the role of a mother. "You bring love and beauty to the world, achieve professional heights, inspire men to create, instill courage and faith. The hearth is warmed by the warmth of your hearts. And your main mission is related to the birth and upbringing of children. We bow low for the kindness and selflessness of mothers with many children, those who have taken in orphans for upbringing. In the Vitebsk region, 681 women have been awarded the Order of Motherhood, and 422 have received the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee prize named after Z. Tusnolobova-Marchenko," said Vladimir Terentyev.

He performed the honorable mission of presenting the Order of Motherhood to Alesya Bogdanova, a teacher at the Vitebsk City Center for Additional Education for Children and Youth. According to the woman herself, this state award is a merit of her entire large family: her husband Nikolai, the rector of the Orthodox Church of the Holy Martyr Longinus the Centurion, and her children Anna, Ivan, Nikolai, Evgeny, and the youngest, Ksyusha. "Alesya is my support, or as they say, my reliable rear. She helps me, I help her, and together in love, we can do much more," said Nikolai Bogdanov about his wife.
