Over 70 g of methadone seized in Polotsk
A large batch of methadone was seized in Polotsk, BELTA was informed by the information and public relations department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
During operational activities in Polotsk on December 11, police officers detained a Ford car driven by an unemployed local resident born in 1968, who was found to be in possession of and had seized over 70 g of methadone. The value of the seized substance is estimated at over $8,000. "This is the largest batch of synthetic drugs seized in the region this year," the Internal Affairs Directorate emphasized.
The Polotsk City Department of the Investigative Committee of Belarus has initiated a criminal case under Article 328, Part 3 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors").
In total, law enforcement officers have seized over 115 kg of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances of various types since the beginning of the year.
