More than 80% of young people with psychophysical development disabilities in Belarus find employment - A. Radkov
March 26, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. More than 80% of young people with psychophysical development disabilities in Belarus find employment. This was stated to a BELTA correspondent by the Minister of Education of Belarus, Alexander Radkov, before the start of an off-site board meeting in Vitebsk, dedicated to the issues of education and employment of persons with psychophysical development disabilities.
According to him, 80% is the average employment rate for this category of young people with different levels of education. "At the same time, the vocational education system shows the best results. Among young people who have received specialties in vocational schools, 87% of graduates find employment," the minister said. In his opinion, this is due to the well-established mechanism of interaction between the heads of these educational institutions and enterprises and organizations. The special education system and universities are slightly lagging behind.
Alexander Radkov emphasized that caring for children with developmental disabilities in Belarus is one of the most important tasks of society and the state. "In this regard, it is important not only to educate them but also to give them the opportunity to settle in life. In this connection, the experience of the education system of the Vitebsk region is noteworthy, as it has good developments in educating such children, providing patronage for them, and assisting them in finding employment," the head of the department noted. -0-
