More than 80 recruits in Polotsk took an oath of allegiance to the Belarusian people

The military oath-taking ceremony took place on Freedom Square. Young men, who joined the ranks of servicemen approximately two weeks ago, took an oath of allegiance to the Motherland, their people, and pledged to bravely and selflessly defend the country's independence.

The young men were addressed by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin. Congratulating the recruits on a new stage in their lives, he emphasized that the ceremony is taking place in a symbolic location – near the Eternal Flame, in Polotsk, the oldest city in the country, the center of Belarusian statehood and Slavic culture. "Taking the oath is not just a formality, it is a symbol of today. You are becoming defenders, you have sworn before your comrades, relatives, and the entire country that you will protect it, preserve and guard it, no matter what happens," said the head of the northern region, wishing the guys to go through their service period with dignity.

"This ritual is taking place with the combat banners of the unit for a reason – you are accepting the baton of courage and glory, of heroes and defenders. By taking the military oath, the state and the people entrust you with their present and future," noted the commander of the military unit, Colonel Alexander Alekseenko.

Among more than eighty young men, most of whom will soon join the patrol company, is Private Stanislav Barminov. He is confident that every man should experience army life and go through this school, responsibly fulfilling all tasks set by the command. According to the young man, he and his comrades-in-arms have already undergone good training and are ready to join the ranks of the servicemen of the 7th Separate Special Militia Brigade.

For parents, such stages in their sons' lives are particularly emotional. Natalia Prannik is sending her eldest son, Danila, to the army. In a couple of years, the middle son, Kirill, will also have to serve his country, and his parents and younger sister Victoria will support the boys with advice from afar. "First and foremost, children become adults in the army; they become more mature, smarter, and definitely more disciplined. Our son is a strong guy, he will succeed. The most important thing is for the boys to remain men and find loyal friends in the army. It's important for our sons to remember that we are proud of them, we are waiting for them, and we love them very much," said Natalia Prannik.

The celebration concluded with a touching reunion of the recruits with their family and loved ones. Mothers, fathers, and grandmothers asked the young men about their service, their first impressions, and emotionally and caringly gave them advice. This meeting was not without long hugs and tears – during their short separation, the soldiers will undergo a serious army training. -0-
