More than 80% of tractors in farms in the Vitebsk region are ready to go out into the fields

The readiness of tractor equipment to be used in spring field work in the farms of the Vitebsk region is 81%, reported Yuri Pochko, Head of the Department of Mechanization, Electrification, and Labor Protection of the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee. "Currently, active preparation of all soil-cultivating equipment, units, and mounted equipment for spring field work is underway in the region, and repair and maintenance of tractors are being carried out, with their readiness at 81%," noted the head of the department.

He added that Br25 billion has already been allocated for the repair of equipment, of which Br21 billion are the farms' own funds, and Br4 billion are from district budgets. Responding to a question about the possible supply of new equipment to the region, Yuri Pochko emphasized that last year the region received more than 970 units of tractors of various models, including high-power ones.

Large centralized purchases are not planned for this year, but any farm can independently contact OJSC "Promagroleasing" to obtain the necessary equipment. "The joint-stock company considers applications from agricultural producers on an individual basis, and if the financial condition of the farmers is satisfactory, they will receive any Belarusian-made equipment on lease for 7 years," explained the head of the department. Speaking about the deadlines for preparing equipment for spring sowing, the specialist stressed that all work should be completed by March 1.
